*Want to learn how to sew?
We hold as many classes as our volunteer members are able to teach! Sharing the knowledge is a path to creative collaboration and growth. Check the [https://www.meetup.com/noisebridge/events/ Meetup] for sewing events. Please sign up (and cancel if you cannot make it) so we can anticipate the number of participants.
*Learn how to use a new machine?
*Dying to talk fashion or just want to work on a project?

This is an informal gathering of people who use the sewing area at Noisebridge, or would like too. We don't have a particular program, it's just hanging out, talking and working on projects. Attendance varies a lot - you could be the only one , or there could be 10 people. However, our sewing area will always be open!

Come if you've been sewing for a while, or you've never picked up a needle before!

It's free, but donations accepted for sewing area upkeep, as always.
To prevent breakage of our machines, damage to other's materials or injury to yourself, get trained before using our sewing machines! We trust you if you say you know how to use the domestics but we require even experts to show us they know how to use our industrial machines. Sewing 101 or others of the Sewing 100 series is sufficient for use of the domestics and use of the room. Sewing 200 or higher is required for certification in use of the industrials. If you need help, lots of the folks who sew in the space are willing to take a bit from their own work to help you along.

And please donate to Noisebridge! We spend considerable time and energy to keep the space up and running. A monthly donation of $50.00 would help to keep sewing open and available when you need it, $100 would help stock us with pins and needles and the supplies we all need and $150 would help someone less fortunate learn to create, mend their own clothes and take part in all that is Noisebridge.

Noisebridge has an incredible sewing area with 5 sewing machines, a giant table, dress form, ironing board and many sewing amenities. We have a great selection of donated fabric, thread and other notions that you can draw from.
We have incredible machines, which you '''should not use''' without training.

Here's our website, with more information about our space:

You can do a project entirely from our donated fabrics here, but it's a bit of a grab-bag. If you want something specific, it's best to bring your own.
You can use fabrics and materials available at the space (please donate if you do so). While we likely have all you need for basic sewing, you will want to bring your own pins, needles, scissors, thread and other supplies. Feel free to donate supplies to Noisebridge.

PS If you need materials for a sewing project, we are next to a great fabric store - Fabric Outlet. It closes at 7pm exactly, so be sure to go before the meetup to get whatever you need

PPS. We are accepting donations of perfectly working home machines, if you have any leads on one, please tell us.
PPS. We are accepting donations of certain sewing or fiber art machines. Please check with the Sewing Guild if you have ideas or something great to give. For instance, we would love a Cricut at this time!. For any other machine, please consult the sewing guild by reaching out to us on [https://discord.gg/VzQPXCmW the Sewing Channel on Discord].
