We live in a decentralized, networked world. We always have, but we didn't know it. Instead, we've evolved our systems based on a spoke and hub, core and periphery model. Centralized models are increasingly mismatched with the world as it is, and if we are to become resilient and sustainable, we must change the way we see it - because reality isn't going to change just to humor us. We can count on some things in the future - climate change, rising sea levels and black swan collapses. Creating the possibility for a resilient and sustainable future requires the ability to look at what is, as well as what can be. Our current system only works for a small fraction of the people on the planet. That needs to change if our species has much hope for long term survival. I'm working on hacking the implicit systems that tend towards centralization in favor of distributed intelligence.

Current projects include creating a non-profit umbrella for sustainable design, promoting resilient community initiatives, developing resource-sharing platforms, strategising ways of delivering patient-driven healthcare into lower-income communities, visualizing the way trauma-informed communities can emerge, and researching the bioremediation of mining wastes.
