The plan was to acquire a 52” 7 gauge 1 system knitting machine from Jiangsu province in China and bring it to Noisebridge in San Francisco. Here's how it played out!
The plan was to acquire a single system, 52” 7 gauge automatic knitting machine (similar to Kniterate) from Jiangsu province in China and bring it to Noisebridge in San Francisco.  
 
We asked 5 vendors for bids via Alibaba/Made-In-China.com/the internet at large and engaged [https://changshusxd.en.alibaba.com/ Changshu Shengxingda Co, Ltd] for a machine at a cost of ~$4000.
 
Here's the timeline of how it played out.
