Here is some photographic documentation of the construction of my Kitchen Prep Table.

Made in the Noisebridge Shop! See.. it works, you should come use it.

As always, start with a sketch.
I have always wanted to do a laminated wood thing.
Rounting dadoes in the legs for a joinery bonus.
Hella sanded and finished with Mineral oil.
Doug Fir, Wenge, and Sapele. No stain. The woods is really that colors.
Storage shelf and leg stablizer.
And here it is in my kitchen. Filling the gap it is intended for.
