7/12/16: Lubricated the door handle latch with chain lubricant.

6/16/16: The bolt was adjusted to the correct position. It needs to be monitored for slipping.

Lubricating the door latch

[edit | edit source]

If the door handle latch doesn't latch when the door is very gently closed, use a few drops of 3:1 oil, wd40, bike chain oil, or other lightweight lubricant directly on the latch component. Depress the latch component a few dozen times with your thumb and test it.

Aligning the Hydraulic Door Closer

[edit | edit source]

The door closer has one bolt which governs the length of a variable length arm.

The length of the variable length arm determines the angle at which the door is completely closed.

If the arm is too long or too short, the door will not close completely.

The current mechanism's ideal setting is in the image below.

The ideal length setting for the variable arm / bolt.
