Noisebridge Exhibition Preparations, Upgrades, and Cleanup.

There are several ways that we can fix and upgrade the space. The Exhibition and Ball creates a nice deadline to attempt to get some of them done. Some of them are more general in that the would be good fixes for the space anytime, and some are more specific to the Exhibition and Ball. If you would like to take on any of the following on, please add a note next to the task. If you would like to add a task, please do so.

I'm trying to use the following format, but of course, improvise as needed.

General Noisebridge improvements and fixes

• Clean up and add to wall of photos at entry
  • Description: We should add some more collages of photos to the ones already by the door. More picture frames, and picture hanging hardware, are needed and a collection of photos of Noisebridge people who would like to be added to the wall need to be printed and arranged. Also, two of the existing frames are missing glass which would be good to replace.
  • None

• Signage update for the refrigerator
  • Description: The signage on the refrigerator could be unified and organized in to a nicer more unified collection of messages, maybe using the vinyl cutter
  • Owner: None

• Suspended Signs for work areas
  • New LED / Acrylic lasercut and etched signs are going to be built and suspended from the ceilings that indicate the major work areas of the space.

• Circuit Breaker for Noise Square
  • Description: The Noise Square table needs a power inlet with a integrated circuit breaker installed. The previous fused solution did not work so well. It would be nice to be able to take those warning labels off the table.

• Typical Cleaning
  • Description: There will be a cleaning day the weekend before the exhibition to purge unused items from the space and give it a cleaning in preparation for setting up for the Exhibition and Decorating for the Ball.

Exhibition and Ball related tasks

• Noisebridge 10 Year Anniversary Exhibition and Ball - Logo Design
  • Description: We made a event logo for the Reboot in 2014 . This logo was used for stickers, shirts, and various other materials since then. It would be nice to have a logo for this event as well. The deadline for selection should be before the Tuesday meeting on July 4, during which we will select the logo, so that we will use as the logo for our promotional items quickly after. While the artwork is of course up to the artist here are some considerations, before you start:
    • The Noisebridge "circuit" Logo should probably be somewhat identifiable, so that people will know that it refers to Noisebridge.
    • While stickers and other print materials can use multiple colors, the concept of the artwork should be reducible two one or two colors, for printing on tshirts.
    • The logo should be understandable at multiple scales, from webpages to stickers to shirts to posters.
    • The artwork will need to be uploaded to the wiki and also provided in a vector format for use by others.
    • The artwork selected will need to use the same licensing as any content uploaded to our wiki https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/
    • While we will select one logo as the primary for the majority of the Exhibition and Ball promotional materials. There is no reason that anyone else can't do-ocratically use whatever logos are submitted.
    • There are several sites on the internet that give tips on logo design.
      • (JH: Finally, If you are looking for feedback on your design before it is finished, I recommend showing it to people who's design sense you trust but avoid showing 'in progress' work to large groups of people.)

• Shirt Design for Exhibition
  • Description: Once we have selected a logo for the Exhibtion, it will need to be arranged for a t-shirt so that we may print it. We have various options for the printing. For our Noisebridge Shirts, we use East Bay Screen Print. However it may be a good idea for a small batch of various sizes to use place that lets us upload the design and then anyone can purchase them as needed, similar to what the Stupid Hackathon people did.

• Exhibition Stickers
  • Description: Once we have a logo for the exhibition we will need to arrange it into a sticker and get them printed. We usually use Sticker Giant for the Noisebridge stickers.
  • Owner: None
