MEDA helps businesses, organizations, families stay in the mission. - Alex: Steven Hawking passed away.
Discussion items: - Roy: let's make our space-guardians process more accessible to people off slack; conversation is currently on #safespace-wg or talk to me afterwards - Nate: I'm going to be making a class on molding robot parts next Tuesday the 20th - Nate: there will be an event at the end of this month for our lego-like thing - Nate: I'm planning on expanding the workspace for Kataka; right now it's too closed in so I'm going to make a better work bench - Nate: I'm directing some of our angel funds to Noisebridge in consideration of our using the space. - Clarissa: Last week I asked about Kickstarter celebrating Maker Faire at Noisebridge; Noisebridge would get what would be budgeted for rental. Could 5MOF be moved to 9?
- email is [name] at kickstarter - 7-9 would be more kickstarter oriented - our one rule and safe space policy would need to be passed on; Augur could announce it - May 17th - catering company is fine - would like it not to be too publicized; fine with some people coming in
Plilanthropists:
- Assi: philanthropy is when you have a stake in Noisebridge and you help people, keep Noisebridge open, and support it financially and with your actions - Alex: kind of like a steward of the culture - Jarrod: philanthropy is not a step on the way to Noisebridge; it is fine for a philanthropist to do no more than what is specified in the Philanthropist pledge - Lizzie: you can become a member without becoming a philanthropist - Augur: philanthropists can renew access tokens; you have the burden of judging whether the last 30 days of someone's access have been excellent - Assi is now a philanthropist.
Membership:
- Lizzie has applied and is on her third week. Membership is the idea of having 24 hour access and more responbsibility than a p. You're also responsible for participating in the consensus process and have the power to block decisions that Noisebridge would make and the power to give out new tokens. I'm interested in being a bigger part of Noisebridge and want to be more a part of it as we move to finding a new space. - Steve: Lizzie could not be a better member of Noisebridge than she already is.
Consensus item:
- (Augur gives an excellent explanation of all things consensus) - Augur brings Safe Space Update - Long discussion about Noisebridge asked to leave policy ensues. - Discussion of abuse of asked to leave, mutual asked to leave, etc.
Happy hacking!
