RPGs at Noisebridge
Noisebridge is a space with a number of rooms and spaces that can be used for gaming when they're not occupied for other events.
Dungeons & Dragons
The iconic role-playing game with the most players and easy to learn mechanics:
- the core mechanic is simple:
- Roll a d20 die, roll high and add modifiers to beat a target number.
- If circumstances are good, you get advantage and roll 2 dice keeping the highest.
- If circumstances are bad, you roll 2 dice and keep the lower result. You have
- CHARACTER CREATION
- You create a character with six ability scores: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma (the origin of the "rizz" slang). Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Cha.
- Ability scores average 10 and range from 3 to 18 or 20 at higher level without special magic, with a -1 for every 2 points below 10 and +1 for every 2 points above it.
- You can generate your abilities with rolling 4d6 keeping the 3 highest dice or use point buy or allocate the "standard" 6 scores between the abilities.
- SPECIES: You pick a species like human, elf, dwarf, etc.
- CLASS: You pick a character job class that defines your skillset and powers as you level up.
- BACKGROUND: You pick a background origin or job that defined your character before they took up their adventuring class profession.
- FEATS: You pick some special abilities called feats that you can do. Background and class can grant bonus feats.
- SKILLS: You pick some skills to be proficient at based on your class with some bonus skills from your species and background.

Upstairs has the best seating and some rooms that aren't always in use.
- EQUIPMENT: You pick gear like weapons and armor and tools to enable your class abilities.
