Summary
[edit | edit source]A dub rack for easy format conversion of video and audio and digital archiving.
What Will Be Done
[edit | edit source]Rack with 16mm, 8mm, dvd, vcr, Blu-ray+rw, DAT tape, turntable, small tv monitor, audio video input/output switcher, a computer for temporary storage/upload of completed digital conversions. A well thought out setup could support two simultaneous dubs
What Areas in the Space Will This Affect
[edit | edit source]Unsure of where this would live and not opposed to it being either wheeled or a permanent installation.
Who Will Be Doing It
[edit | edit source]Digital Archivists have expressed an interest in this.
Why This Will Be Good
[edit | edit source]Dub racks are incredibly useful. Noisebridge could archive it's collection of pre-digital recordings
Why This Will Be Bad
[edit | edit source]The parts will be stolen unless a concrete effort is made to "not hack" them.
