Ken follow-up:

Ken came to Wednesday Silent Sitting. Showed up right at 8pm. Sat. Full 20 minutes. Left immediately after.

No words exchanged. None needed.

Ken is officially a Friend of Ducks. Doesn't want meetings. Just shows up when he shows up.

OKZack was there too — been coming since spring. Still doesn't do meetings, just sits. Nodded at Ken on the way out. Two quiet guys acknowledging each other.

Wheezy visits:

Wheezy popped in! Been coming to Silent Sits since summer. Works on one-wheelers downstairs.

Wheezy: heard you were talking about Halloween. had to see the ducks in person

Eddy: you've been sitting with them for months

Wheezy: sitting with them is different than meeting them socially

Fair point actually.

Wheezy vibes with the philosophy. Says the ducks help him think through engineering problems. Also mentioned something about "plant consciousness" but we didn't follow up.

Lumen: "We've got a nice crew of Silent Sitting regulars now who don't come to meetings. Ken, OKZack, a few others. That's fine. Different ways to participate."

NB16 status:

Still no news on whether NB16 is happening. Elle's planning fell through, no one else has picked it up yet.

Stillwater: "Should we offer to help organize?"

Ripple: "We're a duck guild, not an events guild. But if someone takes the lead, we're ready to participate."

Wait and see continues.

Halloween:

Should we do anything?

Flotsam: "Costume the ducks?"

Eddy: "ABSOLUTELY NOT."

Flotsam: "Not even tiny hats?"

Eddy: "...tiny hats might be okay."

Decision: Optional tiny hats for ducks. Nothing mandatory. Dignity preserved.
