Hello. I wanted to let ye NoiseBridgeies know about two things: Neighborhood Emergency Response Team(NERT) training - a free emergency preparedness training with the SFFD, earthquake centered, to help you improve your ability to discern potential dangers, ability to respond/react in an earthquake, and increase you comfort for he 5 or so days it will take for help to arrive more effectively. I left some fliers onsite several weeks ago. http://www.sf-fire.org/index.aspx?page=875
Hayes Valley Farm(HVF) - a local permaculture-centric Urban Agriculture Project. HVF is positioned at the center of a city-wide movement to increase local food production, and is largely volunteer run. The food is just beginning to sprout in the first cycle of soil building. The site is at the old on/off-ramp on Laguna between Fell and Oak. Work days are Sunday and Thursday afternoons. Volunteers will be getting food for work. The project is projected to last onsite for approximately two plus years, prior to development. The educational/community outreach arm is geared to assist in creating food forests (even small, yard/rooftop sized ones) in S.F. and is also ramping-up. Maybe a food-farm on the roof or in the rat-den-yard could be a good thing? http://www.hayesvalleyfarm.com/
